CPTM Delegation Attends East Africa Trade & Investment Forum

East Africa Trade & Investment Forum 15th to 17th January 2024, Kampala, Uganda

CPTM sent a six-person delegation to attend the East Africa Trade & Investment Forum in Kampala, Uganda, from the 15th to 17th January 2024.

The Delegation was led by David Babington-Smith and included Dr Caleb Fundanga, CPTM Board Director (Zambia); His Excellency Professor Sam Tulya-Muhika, CPTM Board Director (Uganda); Sean de Cleene, CPTM Lead Advisor; AgriFoodTech Innovation Fund; Amira Jayasekera, Office Manager; and Daria Dubovitskaya, Tony Blair Institute, Food & Agriculture Advisor.

The Delegation was joined by Her Excellency Nimisha Madhvani, High Commissioner of Uganda to the United Kingdom, and two other longstanding Smart Partners and serving High Commissioners and Ambassadors: Joyce Kikafunda (Uganda High Commissioner to India), and Elizabeth Napeyok, (Uganda Ambassador to Rome, IFAD and FAO).

David Babington-Smith also participated in a panel discussion to discuss innovative financing in the region. He summarised CPTM’s proposed two new Funds for the region to address Small-Holder farming; the AgriFoodTech Innovation Fund, and the Fund for Commodity Processing Hubs for Out-Growers.
